       The differences between the charger and the adapter are mainly reflected in the following two aspects:

 Characteristic aspects

       1. IEC60950, UL60950 safety standards are used for ac dc adapters, and IEC60335, UL1310, and UL1012 are used for chargers. Safety standards specify their use: The adapter is used to power IT equipment and the charger is used to charge the battery.

       2. The physical characteristics of the lithium battery determine the charging mode: When the battery is charged, it needs a low current and low voltage input to precharge the lithium battery. The battery can be charged with the current and voltage suitable for it after being precharged. If you directly charge with high voltage and high current, the battery will be damaged. The adapter has no pre-charge function, only the charger has pre-charge function.

       3. The constant change of the battery voltage during the charging process of the lithium battery requires the charger to provide different constant voltage and constant current outputs. The charger must work in a linear manner to meet the charging requirements of the lithium battery. The adapter does not have multiple constant voltage and constant currents or charging function.

       4. According to the characteristics of the lithium battery, the charger must be charged in a constant current and constant voltage manner during the charging process, and the constant current and constant voltage range of the charger is required to be large (for example, the width from 4V to 12.6V is provided. Protection function

       2. The short-circuit protection function of the lithium battery requires that the circuit be completely disconnected (the current is 0) in the event of a short circuit. Only in this way can the battery and the electronic board be protected. The charger is automatically disconnected in the event of a short circuit, the current is zero, and the adapter generates a large pulse current in the short-circuit cut-off, and a large current may break through the battery.

       3. The charger has precise over-current protection. When the current exceeds a specific gear, the charger automatically shuts off, so as to avoid damage to the battery due to excessive current, most adapters do not have protection or low accuracy of protection. The excessively low over current protection characteristics greatly increase the risk of charging accidents.
